elBulli – Ferran Adria’s World-Renowned Restaurant
Known for its research kitchen and innovations over the last 30 years, elBulli served 40 course lunches that were once-in-a-lifetime experiences, in its ocean-front restaurant in Roses, Spain, 100 miles north of Barcelona. In 2011, elBulli closed, and Ferran worked tirelessly to begin a new project, the elBulli Foundation. In 2015, Ferran passed away, leaving the new foundation as his legacy.
Ferran’s outreach for elBulli Foundation is global; he visited Seattle in March 2014, and gave a fascinating lecture. Steve asked to keep his large easel with hand-written notes written in Catalan with the intention of publishing them, and then digitized them. For the Ferran Adria fans out there, here are the digitized 3’x4′ pictures he drew, as a part of his talk about what is food, what is cooking, etc.
